AJ Mixer has been with WJFD since August 2022. She started her career in 2012 when she obtained her EMT Certificate and began working in the private ambulance sector. She worked there until 2015 when she became a certified firefighter and began working as a full-time firefighter. In 2023 she began working in Fire Prevention and has very much enjoyed the opportunity to work more with the public in a different capacity. She assists the department with fire safety talks for younger children as well as station tours and safety trailer demonstrations for kids of all ages. Recently she began working to obtain her Fire Inspector 1 certification so she can begin working under the Fire Marshal, inspecting public buildings for any potential risk or safety hazards. She looks forward to seeing this department grow and becoming more involved with our community.
